講義題目: Historical Introduction to Analytic Philosophy
授業の目標・概要: Analytic Philosophy is the predominant style of English-language philosophy. This course will introduce this important approach to philosophy through its early history, from the turn of the 20th century until around the 1970's.

授業計画: Topics to be covered include:
- Russell and philosophical analysis - Logical positivism and the new empirical philosophy - Approaches to linguistic meaning - Approaches to the nature of mind - Approaches to the nature of ethics
Emphasis will be placed on understanding the main arguments rather than detailed exegesis of texts.
授業の方法: Each class will involve lectures and discussion. The class will be conducted in English.
成績評価方法: The final grade will be based on class participation and an essay.
